FLORA OF TÜRKİYE

-Türkiye is one of the few countries in the world in terms of plant species richness and endemic plants. With many genera and species serving as a center of origin, the total number of plant species in our country has approached 12,000 with recent new identifications. Of these plants found in Türkiye, 3,000 are endemic. Greece, the country with the highest endemism rate in Europe after Türkiye, has 800 endemic plant species, while the United Kingdom has a total of 2,000 plant species. Looking at these figures, it becomes clear that Turkey’s geography hosts a rich variety of plant species in terms of both diversity and the number of species.
